Thoughts on Priesthood:
Priesthood is a call from God to continue carrying out the mission that Jesus Christ began when he became man. This calling is a gift from God but men are free to answer it or reject it. I am sure that only God knows the reason why he calls someone even though sometimes I do not feel worthy.
Why I Want to Be a Priest:
I want to become a priest because I feel and experience God’s call. Second, I want to answer this calling because I would like to serve God’s people in this way.
How did your family and friends react when you made that decision? Are they supportive now?
When I decided to enter the seminary my family was very surprised because they did not expect it at all. But they were happy, most especially my parents. Some of my brothers did not like this idea because they preferred that I do something different but they have learned to accept that this decision belonged to me.
What is the hardest part of being in the seminary?
Sometimes there are conflicts of personality that make life a bit difficult.
What is the best part?
One of the best things is the time to grow in my faith and have the opportunity to share it with so many people who desire to know God.
Who/what influenced your decision to enter the seminary?
I was influenced by two seminarians in my home diocese in Mexico. I have understood this as a sign from God because he works through people to communicate his message.
Hobbies & Interests:
Physical exercise and reading
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the priesthood?
If you are thinking about priesthood, do not be afraid to walk along with Jesus Christ in his mission. God always helps us to achieve the goals of our lives wherever we go.
