Thoughts on Priesthood:

Priesthood is a gift, a calling, and a vocation. Priesthood is an act and service that leads to Christ. Fundamental to it is loving God above all else and loving our neighbors. Priesthood is not only imitating Christ but sharing Christ with others through the proclamation of the Word and the breaking of the bread.

Why I Want to Be a Priest:

I want to be a priest because I believe I am called and this is my response to God’s calling. I want to be a priest because I want to serve and to love.

How did your family and friends react when you made that decision? Are they supportive now?

At first they did not like my decision because I am an only child but now my mother is very happy with my decision.

What is the hardest part of being in the seminary?

The hardest part is being separated from my family. My mother lives in the Philippines

What is the best part?

The best part is meeting new friends and learning different cultures.

Who/what influenced your decision to enter the seminary?

The seminarians whom I met in the Church in the Philippines inspired me to enter the seminary.

Hobbies & Interests:

Reading books

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the priesthood?

If you have a calling, just respond to God’s call. Priesthood is a gift and if you have discerned you have this gift, go and serve God’s people.
